  • The new Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale made its first appearance in official photos.
  • The model rocks an aggressive bodykit and comes fitted with a turbo 1.6-liter engine.
  • It is positioned above the HF Racing and Rally 4 HF versions of the Lancia Ypsilon.

Lancia might not have achieved the sales success it hoped for with the new Ypsilon, but it still bets on its return to motorsports. As such, it has now introduced the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale rally car for the WRC2 category.

The new racer looks significantly more aggressive than the entry-level Ypsilon HF Racing and the mid-tier Ypsilon Rally 4 HF despite featuring a similar white, black and red livery with the iconic red elephant.

The redesigned bodykit includes deeper bumpers, a vented hood with quick release latches, wide fender extensions, and a much larger rear wing. It also gets racing mirrors, a roof scoop, and white alloy wheels shod in slick tires.

While the new Integrale has yet to make its rally debut, it comes with a trophy list on the B-pillar to remind everyone that Lancia is the most successful manufacturer in the history of WRC with no less than 10 world championships between 1974 and 1992. These were won by the Stratos, 037, and various iterations of the Delta.

The official announcement about the new rally car was limited to the following sentence: “The New Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale makes its debut, bringing the legendary spirit of Lancia’s rally victories into today’s motorsport. And this is just the beginning.”

So What Lies Under The Skin?

While Lancia didn’t reveal the specifications, we know it complies with the Rally2 regulations. This means it will come fitted with a turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder mated to a five-speed sequential gearbox and a 4WD system with mechanical differentials. There is also a minimum weight requirement of 1,230 kg (2,712 lbs).

The new Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale likely borrows a few bits from its Stellantis stablemate – the Citroen C3 Rally2. This was originally introduced in 2018, and received its latest technical upgrades in 2024. It is based on the previous generation C3, featuring a similar bodykit and a turbo 1.6-liter engine with 282 bhp (210 kW / 285 PS).

Possible Debut Next Year

Lancia will announce more details about the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale in due course. The model is expected to participate in the second-tier category of WRC starting next year, with a possible debut at the first event of the year, the Monte Carlo Rally in January. Competitors include the Rally2 versions of the Skoda Fabia RS, Hyundai i20N, Toyota GR Yaris, Ford Fiesta, and the aforementioned Citroen C3.

As for pricing, Rally2 spec models usually sell for around €200,000-300,000 (around $230,000-350,000). This makes it significantly more expensive than lesser versions, as the Ypsilon HF Racing is priced at €38,900 ($45,500) and the Ypsilon Rally 4 HF starts at €74,500 ($87,100).
