Kia Australia hits million sales milestone with Tasman ute

About 37 years after its cars first hit local roads, Kia Australia has just sold its millionth vehicle Down Under.

The millionth Kia registered in Australia was a Denim Blue Tasman X-Pro dual-cab 4×4 ute, delivered by Queensland dealership Motorama Kia Moorooka to small business owners Andrea and James Allendorf of Internal Demolitions.

It took Kia Australia – previously Kia Motors Australia – exactly three decades to reach 500,000 sales, in 2018. Now just seven years later it has doubled that figure, an achievement the Korean brand attributes to “accelerated product and brand development”.

The popular auto brand’s trailblazing seven-year warranty – introduced in 2014 – and a local chassis tuning program led by renowned Australian engineer Graeme Gambold have no doubt also contributed to Kia’s more recent success, which saw it rank among the top three automakers by sales in 2022.

To commemorate the sales milestone, Andrea and James Allendorf were joined by Kia Australia ambassadors Darren Lockyer and Pat Rafter for the delivery of their new Tasman.

Also present were Dennis Piccoli (Kia Australia COO), Andrew Savvas, (Motorama CEO), and Joel Mullins (dealer principal at Motorama Kia Moorooka).
