BYD Shark 6 drive-away deal brings thousands in savings for some buyers

The BYD Shark 6 is continuing to prove a strong seller in Australia, where it’s yet to be offered with a nationwide drive-away price – until now.

The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) dual-cab 4×4 ute – so far only available in a single Premium trim locally – is now available Australia-wide for $59,400 drive-away until September 30, 2025. It’s usually priced at $57,900 before on-road costs.

The deal isn’t available in conjunction with any other promotions, and customers must also take delivery by September 30, 2025. You still have to pay an extra $700 for premium paint, too, unless you choose to stick with the standard Great White finish.

Northern Territory buyers will also still pay their standard drive-away price as it’s lower at $59,374, but Shark 6 customers in other states will get a saving of upwards of $3000.

The drive-away deal comes after GWM has continued to sharpen prices for its rival Cannon Alpha PHEV. Until September 30, 2025, it’s currently being offered for $57,490 drive-away in Lux trim, a saving of up to $7100, and $64,490 drive-away as an Ultra, a saving of up to $6600.

The two Chinese PHEV utes are also facing competition in the Ford Ranger PHEV, a more expensive proposition but one that’s based on Australia’s best-selling vehicle.

Currently, this is being offered with a 1.99 per cent per annum interest rate for commercial customers who finance their vehicle. This offer also ends on September 30, 2025.

The Ranger PHEV lineup starts at $71,990 before on-road costs.
