Buick’s compact crossover now carries a not so compact price of $41,000

- The 2026 Buick Envision has received a hefty price hike of up to $4,500.
- Buick didn’t say anything about the crossover, but the increase is likely due to tariffs.
- The Envision is built in China, just like the Lincoln Nautilus.
We’ve made plenty of jokes at Chrysler’s expense, but that beleaguered brand is a hub of activity compared to Buick. Their US marketing team hasn’t issued a single press release all year and their last update was about the redesigned Enclave, which debuted in April of 2024.
That’s not a great move and neither is a $3,000 price hike on the 2026 Envision. However, the brand now wants customers to shell out $41,000 before a $1,895 destination fee. That’s up from $38,000, although the price used to be $36,500. This means you’re looking at an overall increase of $4,500 in less than a year.

So what’s new? Not much by the look of things, although it’s hard to be certain since Buick has been radio silent for nearly two years. Putting aside that caveat, the entry-level variant comes equipped with LED lighting units, silver roof rails, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Moving inside, there’s a familiar cabin with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a 30-inch display with Google built-in. They’re joined by perforated leatherette seats, a wireless smartphone charger, and an ambient lighting system. Rounding out the highlights are an auto-dimming rearview mirror and an automatic climate control system.
On the safety front, there’s a host of standard driver assistance systems including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Alert, and Automatic Emergency Braking. The model also has Blind Zone Steering Assist, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Traffic Sign Recognition – among others.
All versions continue to be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system.
There’s no word on why pricing has shot up so significantly, but the answer is likely China. The Envision is made in the communist country, which means it subjected to hefty tariffs by the Trump administration. This has left the model’s fate in question but, for now, it sounds like price hikes are the answer.
