2026 Porsche Macan review: Long-term introduction

Here it is – the Porsche Macan Electric by CarExpert!

Last year we held a fun little competition with our social media community, in which members of the CarExpert team each configured a new Porsche Macan Electric in the hope of their creation being voted into production.

Well, this is the car you chose! Based on the entry-level ‘Macan’, the vehicle you see here is finished in the lovely Jet Black Metallic paint option, and equipped with 22-inch RS Spyder Design wheels painted in Neodyme.

The interior is specified with the Extended leather package, finished in Black/Bordeaux Red with optional 18-way adaptive front sports seats and exclusive ‘Crayon’ inserts.

Those are just some of the additions to this mid-size luxury electric SUV. All up, there’s about $87,000 of optional equipment applied, making this quite the up-spec ‘basey’ if you ask me.

But in addition to admiring our winning combination in the metal, we wanted to find out what it’s like to live with an electric Porsche over an extended period (beyond the regular seven-day press car booking), so we’ve embarked on a three-month relationship with this CarExpert-configured Macan EV.

Following this introduction, stay tuned for a detailed long-term review that will bring you the team’s ‘ownership’ impressions, including what we liked and we didn’t like so much…

How much does the Porsche Macan cost?

We have the entry-level ‘Macan’ on test here, priced from $128,400 before on-road costs. However, the special ‘CarExpert Spec‘ is fitted with no less than $87,000 worth of optional extras, making it more expensive than the list price of the Macan Turbo flagship!
