If You Want This Full-Size Chevy Special, You’ll Have To Settle For A Four-Cylinder

  • Chevrolet has quietly introduced the new Silverado 1500 RST Select Special Edition.
  • It features side steps, a bedliner, and black 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.

Chevrolet’s best-selling truck is about to get a major makeover, but the company hasn’t forgotten about the current model. Quite the opposite, as they’ve introduced the 2026 Silverado 1500 RST Select Special Edition.

adpushup.que.push(function() {
if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){
adpushup.triggerAd(“0f7e3106-c4d6-4db4-8135-c508879a76f8”);
} else {
adpushup.triggerAd(“82503191-e1d1-435a-874f-9c78a2a54a2f”);
}
});

It’s designed to appeal to “customers who want a sporty, modern design package with smart technology at an affordable price.” Unfortunately, this means the special edition isn’t very, well, special.

That being said, the Silverado features a lightly revised exterior with black side steps and 20-inch gloss black wheels. The latter are wrapped in all-terrain tires, which give the truck a more rugged appearance.

Additional changes are limited, but the RST Select Special Edition comes with a spray-on bedliner and all-weather floor liners. Customers will also find six exterior colors ranging from Black to Riptide Blue Metallic.

The special edition will be available in double cab and crew cab configurations, but the model is offered exclusively with the 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder engine. It produces 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 430 lb-ft (582 Nm) of torque. The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can be paired to rear- or four-wheel drive.

Chevrolet’s configurator is a confusing mess, but it implies the package saves you $3,190 on the Silverado 1500 RST crew cab with four-wheel drive. However, it’s not exactly cheap as that variant starts at $58,060 before a $2,595 destination fee and a $6,350 “package discount.” This overcomplicated wizardry lowers the total price to $54,305.
