Full pricing and specifications have been announced for the 2026 KGM Musso EV, which sets a new price benchmark for an all-electric ute in Australia, at just $60,000 drive-away for private buyers.
That’s significantly lower than the only electric ute currently available here – the rear-wheel drive LDV eT60 dual-cab priced at $92,990 before on-road costs.
However, the eT60 will soon be replaced by the all-new eTerron 9, which is likely to be more affordable, and there’s a number of other new EV utes coming to this market soon, including the Toyota HiLux BEV in 2026 and the Isuzu D-Max EV.

Pricing
Three variants of the pure-electric dual-cab will be available, including the eponymous entry-level, front-wheel drive Musso EV, the better equipped Black Edge for just $2000 extra, and the top-spec Musso EV AWD for another $2000.

For reference, the flagship diesel-powered KGM Musso XLV Ultimate dual-cab 4×4 ute is priced at $53,000 drive-away.
Vehicles will be available at selected KGM dealerships by the end of this month, before the official start of sales on December 1.
Drivetrains and Efficiency
Unlike KGM’s existing Musso range, which rides on a ladder-frame chassis, the Musso EV is underpinned by a monocoque chassis like the Korean automaker’s Actyon and Torres mid-size SUVs.
As we outlined in September, the Musso EV will be offered here with a choice of single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrains, both featuring an 80.6kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.
Driving range has now been listed at 420km (WLTP) for 2WD variants and 380km (WLTP) for AWD variants. For reference, the LDV eTerron 9 – which has previously been confirmed for our market, but for which local timing has yet to be locked in – has a WLTP range of up to 430km.

Front-drive versions of the Musso EV produce a combined 152kW of power and 339Nm of torque, with the AWD flagship adding a rear-mounted electric motor to output 175kW and 630Nm.
In contrast, while the body-on-frame LDV eT60 makes just 130kW, the eTerron 9 is offered overseas with a choice of 200kW single-motor rear-drive and 325kW dual-motor AWD configurations.
The Musso EV’s battery can be DC fast-charged at up to 300kW, at which it will accept a 20 to 80 per cent recharge in a claimed 31 minutes. A 10-80 per cent charge takes approximately 46 minutes on a 100kW charger and 36 minutes on a 300kW charger.
A 0-100 per cent charge on a 11kW AC charger takes approximately 10 hours and 20 minutes.
Built-in Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality enables external power supply for camping gear, tools, or outdoor appliances.
Regenerative braking is adjustable across three levels via steering wheel-mounted paddles.
Dimensions
The Musso EV measures 5160mm long, 1920mm wide and 1750mm tall on a 3150mm wheelbase, making it 190mm shorter than the Ford Ranger PHEV on a 120mm shorter wheelbase.

Unlike most dual-cab utes, the Musso EV’s rear suspension is a multi-link setup with self-levelling shock absorbers, rather than a more rugged solid-axle leaf-spring arrangement at the rear.
As such, braked towing capacity is limited to 1800kg (most diesel dual-cabs can tow up to 3500kg), which is nevertheless more than the eT60’s 1000kg, and payload is a more competitive 905kg for 2WD versions and 805kg for the AWD variant.
That’s competitive with plug-in hybrid utes like the Ford Ranger (808kg-973kg), BYD Shark 6 (790kg) and GWM Cannon Alpha (685kg), but the Musso EV falls short on ground clearance which is just 181mm.
Inside, KGM says the Musso EV offers similar second-row space to a mid-size SUV, as well as 1002mm of headroom, and its rear seat is 60/40-split and folding, heated in the outboard positions, and has an 80mm sliding range and a 32-degrees reclining angle.
The Musso EV is claimed to share its tub dimensions with the diesel Musso, with a tray including eight cargo tie-down hooks, a moulded tub liner that extends over the top edges, and illumination.
Servicing and Warranty
The Musso EV will be covered by KGM Australia’s seven-year, unlimited-kilometre new-vehicle warranty, and its high-voltage battery will be covered by a 10-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
Service intervals and pricing have not yet been confirmed.

The KGM Musso EV is yet to be assessed by Euro NCAP or its local affiliate ANCAP.

Colours
Both the base 2WD and the AWD flagship come standard with “Black Leather Look” interior trim, while the 2WD Black Edge has “Black Leather & Suede” trim.
Grand White is the only standard exterior paint colour, with all metallic hues attracting a $700 surcharge. The Black Edge is only available with Grand White paint and Space Black metallic.
